The World Federation for Medical Education (WFME) is the non-governmental organisation in official relation with the World Health Organisation (WHO), and works to enhance the quality of medical education worldwide. WFME works in partnership with its six Regional Associations for Medical Education, the World Health Organisation, the World Medical Association and other global professional organisations to enhance the quality of medical education through delivery of its work programme, including:• Development of standards in medical education• Promotion of accreditation of medical schools• Management of the World Directory of Medical Schools, jointly with FAIMER

WFME is looking for a maternity cover for one of the roles, with the possibility to extend the post into long-term cooperation. The role would suit someone looking to develop their knowledge and understanding of the workings of an international organisation. 

Start date: January 2022 (orientation ideally starting mid-December)

End date: to be agreed, the minimum length is 10 months. Long-term cooperation is possible if both parties are satisfied.
Expected workload: 80-120 hours/month (may vary depending on the tasks at a particular time)
Location: Home office, occasional meetings in person (1-2/month), possibility of work travel world-wide
Hourly rate: to be agreed
Duties of the post
1. Support for the administration of the WFME Recognition of Accreditation programme.
2. Administrative support for the WFME Standards programme.

3. General administration of the WFME office including management of email and other channels.
4. Shared responsibility for external communications including first point of contact with members of the public, website editing and management, and publication design.
5. Drafting of papers on administrative and more specialist topics.
6. Assisting with general office management, including maintenance of office records.
7. Other duties as may reasonably be required by the President and senior colleagues.

Requirements
* Personal and professional interest in healthcare, education and/or working for an international organisation
* A working knowledge of English is required; other languages are an asset
* Experience with social media management is an asset
* Administrative experience is an asset
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Ideas driven, with a creative approach to problem-solving
* Attention to detail
* Able to multi-task and work on several projects at the same time
* Possibility of a freelance contract (živnostenský list).
To be effective in the role, you would need to be able to work independently, be quick to learn, and be comfortable working with people from different countries and at different levels of seniority. The post is suitable for recent graduates. 
There are two other members of the inner team working in the Czech Republic, near Olomouc. Other members are in France, the UK, and Uzbekistan. The extended team is located around the world.
